Step 1:

Initially just have to sign up with an ADSL broadband service present in your locality. You need to look out for all the ADSL connection providers available in your area. You need to do a broadband comparison between the various connection providers. If you are selecting a local BT exchange, you can place the order for the package through online or by simply calling the local ISP service center. Before getting a connection you must make sure that your phone line has the ability to receive data through ADSL or ADSL 2+ modem. If you are not able to use ADSL, you have to contact your service provider. The up gradation of the phone line will be done by the service provider. Once the above processes get over the connection will be activated.

Step 2:

Next step is that you should get the broadband kit that meets your requisite from the Internet Service Provider. Usually the ISP gives you only one micro filter with a kit. You can also offer to buy an additional filter, because it increases the data transfer speed. There are also lots of unlimited broadband packages available too which you can select from.

Step 3:

The broadband kit comes with a driver. You need to install these drivers before connecting the modem with your system. The installation CD has the backup of all the drivers and it is a simple step by step installation procedure. You have to just follow the instruction manual and install the drivers. You need to restart your computer once you the installation process is completed.

You can also use hub or Ethernet port to connect the modem with your system. Usage of Ethernet cable or USB cable to connect the modem with your system is generally preferred. The operating system installed in your computer will automatically detect the modem when you start the computer. If your operating system does not detect the modem then do it manually. You have to configure the system settings with the software available on the installation CD, if you are willing to use wireless router or wired router.

Step 5:

Later connect the phone and the modem with the micro filter. After doing this you have to just connect the micro filter with the BT broadband phone socket. Ensure that both are connections are perfectly done..To confirm the connection status try making a call on your phone.

Step 6:

Now switch on both your modem and the computer. The modem has four LED indicator lights. They check for the power, link, data and the PC respectively. The colour of the LED indicator lights depends on the modem manufacturer. When all the four lights glow simultaneously the connection is complete.

Step 7:
