Trying to find the right Gaming Laptop isn’t easy. There is so many out there and you need to know what to look for in a gaming laptop. Gaming laptops are great for LAN parties and meet ups with your friends. First, thing to note when buying a gaming laptop is your going to be spending more than you would for the same spec desktop PC. You are limited in your options to upgrade your laptop’s hardware, so it’s best to look for a gaming laptop that will last. To play the games on a laptop you need to look at powerful machines. Try not to listen to the shop sellers as these people are most likely not gamers and are just trying to take your money. Take your time and don’t be afraid to leave the store empty handed as you could be spending a lot of money, make sure it’s the right one for you.

For CPU you should be looking for a Intel Core 2 Duo P7000 series or a AMD Turion X2 Ultra or better. Make sure your processor is at least these spec range or better. Most laptops will have DDR2 RAM and this is fine for gaming. Aim towards getting 4GBs of RAM in your laptop. Very important to note, do not buy any gaming laptop that just has integrated graphics. Doesn’t matter how good the RAM or processor is, you need the graphics card for playing even the less hardware demanding games out. Now, when picking your Graphics Card of choice, you have to be careful. Remember, you cannot upgrade this later and you should aim towards getting a Nvidia 9800M GS or better. When looking at the screen you should try anything with a 17-inch display or better. You want to have a good screen for when your playing your games.

When looking at the Hard Drive space, try aiming for 300GB or more. You don’t want to have to uninstall or delete files later down the line. Make sure you laptop of choice comes with at least a DVD player and good amount of USB slots. Also, make sure it as a network slot and a headphone and microphone slots. You may want to look into getting a USB mouse for your laptop as it’s really hard to play games using the touch pad. Once, you’ve chosen a couple of laptop you might be interested in. Write them down and research them online. Look for user reviews of these laptops and as your friends what they think of them.
